Description
Your ticket enables you to explore the grounds and structures of the ancient Maya city of Lakam Ha', which dates back to the 3rd century BC. After several wars, Lakam Ha' was abandoned and forgotten until rediscovered centuries later in the jungle, showcasing Maya urban planning and architecture.
At the archaeological site, you will encounter several monuments, including the Temple of the Inscriptions, the tallest structure at nearly 25 meters (82 feet), where Maya king K'inich Janaab' Pakal was buried. Other notable temples include the Temple of the Cross, the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Skull, and the Tomb of the Red Queen. The Great Palace features well-preserved reliefs and a tower for sunset observation, all set in a lush jungle environment.
