Ancient art, history, and adventure await on this 2-day excursion to the Las Golondrinas Waterfalls and Bonampak, which includes a rafting activity on the Lacanjá River. We'll learn about Maya culture and explore the jungle of Chiapas!

Description

Day 1: Palenque - Yaxchilán & Bonampak

At 5:30 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in Palenque and head to the Las Golondrinas Waterfalls. After a 2-hour trip, we'll take a break for breakfast.

Once we arrive at Las Golondrinas Waterfalls, we'll tour this location for two hours, observing the crystalline waters and pool surrounded by jungle.

Next, we'll visit the archaeological site of Bonampak for about an hour to see its well-preserved murals.

The day concludes with an overnight stay in a cabin next to the Lacanjá River, including dinner and rest.

Day 2: Rafting on the Lacanjá River - Palenque

We'll have breakfast at the cabin and prepare for a morning of rafting on the Lacanjá River for 2 hours.

After rafting, we'll hike through the Maya jungle to observe local wildlife and enjoy the surroundings. We will return to the lodge for lunch.

The activity concludes at 8 pm when we return to your hotel in Palenque.
