Metzabok Day Trip

Cross the Lacandon Jungle and visit Metzabok on our day trip from Palenque, including a boat ride and cave paintings.

Metzabok Day Trip

At 8 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Palenque to begin the 2-hour 30-minute drive to the Metzabok Lagoon.

Upon arrival, we will board a boat for a 2-hour 30-minute trip across the lagoon, named after the God of Rain, where we will view historic cave paintings at the foot of the Chiapas Mountains.

During the journey, we will share information about Metzabok and the origin of the Maya Lacandon community.

Midway, we will return to the mainland for a 1-hour break for lunch at your discretion.

After lunch, we will take a walk through the jungle to explore the area's biodiversity and visit a lookout point for views of Metzabok.

We will return to Palenque, arriving around 7 pm.
