Metzabok Day Trip

Cross the Lacandon Jungle and visit Metzabok on our day trip from Palenque, including a boat ride and cave paintings by the Mayas.

Metzabok Day Trip

At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Palenque and drive for 2 hours and 30 minutes to the Metzabok Lagoon.

Upon arrival, we'll board a boat for a 2-hour 30-minute trip across the lagoon, named after the God of Rain, to view the historic cave paintings at the foot of the Chiapas Mountains. Information on Metzabok and the Maya Lacandon community will be provided during the trip.

We will return to the mainland for a 1-hour break for lunch on your own.

After lunch, we will walk through the jungle to explore the area's biodiversity, ending at a lookout point with views of Metzabok and its surroundings.

We will head back to Palenque, with an expected arrival around 7 pm.
