Trekking in the Lacandon Jungle

After picking you up at your hotel in Palenque, we will travel to the Lacanja Chansayab indigenous community. The minibus journey takes about three hours, with a stop for breakfast along the way.

Upon arrival, we will begin a hiking route through the Lacandon jungle.

During the 4-hour hike, we will admire ferns, orchids, and bromeliads. A Lacandon guide will explain the unique features of various plants, and there is a chance to see howler monkeys, macaws, or harpy eagles. Jaguars also inhabit this jungle, so remain observant.

On the return to Lacanja Chansayab, there will be one hour of free time for lunch before heading back to Palenque. The experience concludes with drop-off at the hotels approximately 14 hours after the pickup time.
