Trekking in the Lacandon Jungle

After pickup from your hotel in Palenque, we will travel to the Lacanja Chansayab indigenous community. The journey by minibus takes about three hours, with a stop for breakfast.

Upon arrival, we will start a hiking route through the Lacandon jungle.

During the 4-hour hike, you can admire ferns, orchids, and bromeliads. A Lacandon guide will share insights about various plants, and with luck, you may spot howler monkeys, macaws, or harpy eagles. The jungle is also home to jaguars, so stay alert!

On the way back, there will be one hour of free time for lunch before returning to Palenque. The overall experience concludes with a return to the hotels 14 hours after pickup.
