Visit Palermo's Three Most Beautiful Churches
Our meeting point is the Palermo Quattro Canti Hotel. The tour begins with the Church of San Giuseppe dei Teatini, the most visited church in Palermo. Inside, Sicilian baroque frescoes are featured alongside two holy water fountains sculpted by Ignazio Marabitti.
A short walk from here leads to the Church of Santa Caterina, dedicated to St. Catherine of Alexandria. This church combines late Renaissance features on its facade with a baroque interior. Visitors will admire its choir, main altar, chapels, and frescoes while learning about its history.
The final stop is the Church of Gesù, or Casa Professa. This 17th-century Jesuit church features a stark exterior contrasted by an ornate interior filled with sculptures, marble ornaments, and frescoes. The tour concludes with an informative discussion about the church's post-World War II challenges.
After three hours of exploration, the guided tour ends with a farewell outside the Church of Santa Caterina.
