Set off on an enlightening exploration of Palermo's baroque heritage, where we will delve into the stunning churches of Santa Caterina, San Giuseppe, and Gesù. Discover the Architectural Gems of Palermo

Our adventure begins at the Palermo Quattro Canti Hotel, the starting point for a captivating tour that reveals the splendor of three of Palermo's most iconic churches.

We will first visit the Church of San Giuseppe dei Teatini, renowned for being the most frequented church in Palermo. Once inside, you'll be surrounded by impressive frescoes that highlight the essence of Sicilian baroque artistry. Here, you can also find magnificent holy water fountains crafted by Ignazio Marabitti, a notable sculptor of the city.

A brief stroll will take us to the Church of Santa Caterina. This temple, dedicated to St. Catherine of Alexandria, skillfully merges late Renaissance elements in its façade with a captivating baroque interior. We will take the time to appreciate its choir, grand altar, lavish chapels, and intricate frescoes while exploring the rich history of this convent church.

Our journey will conclude at the Church of Gesù, commonly referred to as Casa Professa. The church's unadorned exterior, typical of 17th-century Jesuit architecture, stands in stark contrast to its lavishly decorated interior. Here, a multitude of sculptures, colorful inlays, marble details, and breathtaking frescoes await. During our visit, we will uncover fascinating insights about this building and discuss its recovery journey following World War II.

After three hours filled with exploration and discovery, we will wrap up the guided tour outside the Church of Santa Caterina, reflecting on the artistic and historical treasures we've encountered.
