On this day trip to Mazara del Vallo from Palermo, we will explore a city exemplifying the fusion of Mediterranean cultures and one of the most beautiful ports in Sicily.
Tour Details
At the specified time, we will meet at Via dei Benedettini in Palermo and travel to Mazara del Vallo, a city rich in history, culture, and culinary delights shaped by centuries of cultural coexistence.
Upon arrival in the city center after a 1.5-hour drive, we will walk to Piazza della Repubblica to view the Cathedral of St. Salvatore, a significant example of Sicilian baroque. Focus will be on the Norman architectural elements before entering to appreciate its frescoes and pictorial works.
Post-visit, we will proceed to the Lungomare Giuseppe Mazzini to enjoy the maritime panorama, heading next to the Museum of the Dancing Satyr, home to its famous statue. We will also explore the Arab quarter of the Casbah, wandering through its narrow streets.
Afterward, there will be 1.5 hours of free time to have lunch and explore Mazara del Vallo, with an emphasis on trying the typical fish couscous. Once free time concludes, we will reconvene at Piazza della Repubblica for the shuttle back to Palermo, concluding the tour after 7 hours.
