On this day trip to Mazara del Vallo from Palermo, we'll explore the fusion of Mediterranean cultures and one of Sicily's most beautiful ports.
Tour Details
At the specified time, we'll meet at Via dei Benedettini in Palermo. We will then travel for 1.5 hours to Mazara del Vallo, a city known for its history, culture, and culinary traditions resulting from centuries of cultural coexistence.
Upon arrival, we will walk to Piazza della Repubblica to visit the Cathedral of St. Salvatore, notable for its Norman architectural elements. Inside, we will view its valuable frescoes and paintings.
Following the cathedral visit, we will proceed to Lungomare Giuseppe Mazzini to enjoy the maritime views. Next, we will visit the Museum of the Dancing Satyr, home to the famous statue. We will then explore the Arab quarter of the Casbah and its narrow streets, returning to the Lungomare for 1.5 hours of free time to have lunch and further explore Mazara del Vallo. It is recommended to try the local fish couscous.
After free time, we will reconvene at Piazza della Repubblica, where the shuttle will take us back to Palermo, concluding the tour after a total of 7 hours.
