On this day trip to Mazara del Vallo from Palermo, we'll see an example of the fusion of Mediterranean cultures and one of the most beautiful ports in Sicily.
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Via dei Benedettini, in Palermo. From there, we'll travel to Mazara del Vallo, a city rich in history, culture and culinary delights, the fruit of the coexistence of different cultures over the centuries.
After a 1.5-hour drive, we will walk to Piazza della Repubblica and visit the Cathedral of St. Salvatore, focusing on its Norman elements and exploring its interior frescoes and pictorial works.
We will then head to the Lungomare Giuseppe Mazzini to enjoy the maritime panorama before reaching the Museum of the Dancing Satyr, which houses the famous statue of the same name.
Next, we will explore the Arab quarter of the Casbah, discovering its narrow streets. Afterward, you will have 1.5 hours of free time to have lunch and explore further. It is suggested to try the typical fish couscous.
Once free time is over, we will meet back at Piazza della Repubblica for the shuttle ride back to Palermo, arriving after a total of 7 hours.
