Tour Details
We'll meet at the scheduled time in front of the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, at Piazza Giuseppe Verdi, to start a tour dedicated to civil mobilisation against organised crime.
After observing the Teatro Massimo from the outside, we'll head towards Piazza Beati Paoli, linked with the secret sect mentioned by Luigi Natoli. We will analyze its alleged connection with Cosa Nostra before continuing to the Mercato del Capo, which is said to conceal hidden paths used by the Beati Paoli.
Our next stop will be Piazza della Memoria, featuring a memorial dedicated to magistrates killed by the Mafia. We'll then visit Palermo Cathedral to discuss the relationship between the Mafia and the Church, including the story of Don Pino Puglisi.
As we pass by the Town Hall, a symbol of the alliance between Cosa Nostra and politics, we'll proceed to Piazza Magione in Kalsa, the Arab quarter where Falcone and Borsellino spent their childhood.
Along the way, we will observe the "Pago chi non paga" campaign logo on shop windows, highlighting businesses that have refused to pay protection money, supported by the Addiopizzo Committee.
The tour will conclude after 3 hours at the Fontana Pretoria.
