Sierra Nevada Trekking Route

We will meet at 9 am in Plaza de la Libertad, Pampaneira. The trekking route will cover between 6 and 9 kilometres, showcasing the charms of Sierra Nevada.

Initially, we will visit the National Park information point to learn about this protected natural environment and view farming tools that illustrate rural life in the Alpujarra of Granada.

We will leave Pampaneira and walk along the Poqueira ravine, climbing its slopes to enjoy the scenery of the white villages. The history and culture of Bubión and Capileira will be shared as we explore their streets.

While traversing the mountain paths, discussions will cover the geological formation of the peaks and the origins of local rivers. The Mulhacén will provide a striking image on the horizon as the highest peak in the Iberian Peninsula.

After a trek lasting four to six hours, based on group abilities and conditions, we will return to the starting point.
