Sierra Nevada Trekking Route

Meeting at 9 am in Plaza de la Libertad, Pampaneira, we will embark on a trekking route of 6 to 9 kilometres, exploring the charms of Sierra Nevada.

The trek will begin at the National Park information point, where we will learn about this protected natural environment, including farming tools that illustrate rural life in the Alpujarra of Granada.

We will walk alongside the Poqueira ravine, ascending its slopes to admire the views of the white villages of the Sierra Nevada. The history and culture of Bubión and Capileira will be discussed as we traverse their streets.

Along the mountain paths, we will cover the formation of these peaks and the origins of their rivers, culminating in views of the Mulhacén, the highest peak in the Iberian Peninsula.

After four to six hours of walking, contingent on group abilities and conditions, we will return to the starting point.
