On this day trip from Panama City, you will visit the locks on the Atlantic Ocean and experience the Panama Canal.

Day Trip Details

At the scheduled time, you will be picked up at your hotel in Panama City and transported by bus to the Atlantic Coast. After a drive of a little over one hour, you will reach the Agua Clara Locks.

The Agua Clara Locks serve as an entrance to the Panama Canal from the Atlantic, connecting the ocean to Gatun Lake, the canal's largest lake, which opened in 1913.

At the locks, you will observe ships passing through as the lock system lifts them almost 26 meters (85 feet).

During the trip, you will visit the Agua Clara Visitor Center and explore the canal's expansion designed to accommodate larger vessels. There will be free time for lunch and opportunities to admire the engineering marvel and Gatun Lake, with possible sightings of crocodiles from lookout points.

Finally, you will return to the starting point, approximately 5 hours after the pickup.
