Panama Canal Day Trip + Agua Clara Locks Tour

On this day trip from Panama City, you'll travel to the locks on the Atlantic Ocean to admire the Panama Canal.

Day Trip Details

At the designated time, pickup will be at your hotel in Panama City, followed by a bus ride to the Atlantic Coast of Panama. After a little over an hour's drive, we'll arrive at the Agua Clara Locks.

The Agua Clara Locks is one of the entrances to the Panama Canal from the Atlantic, connecting the ocean with Gatun Lake, the canal's largest lake, which opened for transit in 1913.

Once there, we'll witness the passage of ships through the lock, observing how the system of gates lifts vessels almost 26 meters (85 feet).

During the day trip, we'll visit the Agua Clara Visitor Center and explore the canal's new expansion for larger vessels.

You will have free time to have lunch and continue admiring this engineering feat and Gatun Lake. Lookout points may provide views of crocodiles.

We will return to the starting point, completing the trip 5 hours after pickup.
