Travel back to colonial times on this tour! We'll spend a day exploring the ruins of Panama Viejo and the old town of Panama City.

Panama City Tour + Panama Viejo

We’ll pick you up at your hotel in Panama City at 8 am and head to Panama Viejo, which features the ruins of the first Spanish city in the country.

The first stop will be the cathedral, where you can climb the tower for views of both the colonial city and the modern capital.

Next, we will explore the wells and rural houses to understand local life in colonial times. We will follow the path of the pirate Henry Morgan over the Slaughterhouse Bridge to the Fort of the Nativity, the primary defense from the west.

We will also stop at the church and convent of the Immaculate Conception. If you wish, a visit to the museum in the Plaza Mayor is available before we head to the oldest part of Panama City.

Established by the Spanish in 1673, Panama City's old town is a World Heritage Site. Our tour will begin at the cathedral, the first built by the Spanish. We’ll continue to the churches of La Merced, San José, and San Francisco de Asís.

We will walk through pleasant squares, including Francia, Herrera, or Bolivar. At the end of the day, we’ll visit the Panama Interoceanic Canal Museum to learn about this great engineering achievement.

Finally, we will return to the hotels, concluding the tour 6 hours after pickup.
