Panama City Tour + Panama Viejo
Pickup will be at your hotel in Panama City at 8 am. We will first visit Panama Viejo, the site of the first Spanish city in the country.
The initial stop will be at the cathedral to climb the tower for views of the colonial and modern areas of the city. We will then visit the wells and rural houses showcasing local colonial life. Following the path of the pirate Henry Morgan, we will cross the Slaughterhouse Bridge to the Fort of the Nativity, the city's primary defense.
We will also stop at the church and convent of the Immaculate Conception. For those interested in the history of Panama Viejo, there will be an opportunity to visit the museum in the Plaza Mayor before we proceed to Panama City's old town.
Constructed in 1673, the old town is a World Heritage Site. Our exploration will begin at the cathedral, the first church built by the Spanish. We will continue to the churches of La Merced, San José, and San Francisco de Asís.
We will walk through Francia, Herrera, or Bolivar squares, experiencing the local atmosphere. The tour will conclude with a visit to the Panama Interoceanic Canal Museum to learn about this significant engineering achievement, after which we will return to the hotels, completing the tour 6 hours after pickup.
