This archaeological tour of Pantelleria explores various historical periods of the island, from the Bronze Age to the Middle Ages.
At the scheduled meeting time at Via Borgo Italia, the tour of Pantelleria's history will commence. The tour includes visits to the huts of the village of Mursia and the necropolis of Sesi, where we will learn about the first settlers of the island during the Bronze Age.
We will examine Cossyra, the ancient name of Pantelleria, focusing on its history from origins to decline. The location was pivotal in establishing Cossyra as a capital in the 13th century BC.
The final stop will be Pantelleria Castle, where the historical context of battles between Arabs and Christians will be discussed.
The tour concludes after four hours.
