Private Pantelleria Archaeological Tour

This private archaeological tour of Pantelleria will take you through the different historical periods of this Sicilian island, from the Bronze Age to the Middle Ages.

Tour Details

At the appointed time we will meet at Via Borgo Italia to begin this tour of Pantelleria's past. The first destinations include the huts of the village of Mursia and the necropolis of Sesi, where we will learn about the history of the first settlers of the island in the Bronze Age.

We will review the stages through which Cossyra, the ancient name of Pantelleria, has passed from its origins to its decline, noting its importance as a capital in the 13th century BC.

The tour will culminate at Pantelleria Castle, where we will discuss the history of the island's battles between Arabs and Christians. The tour lasts four hours.
