Kayaking Tour of the Mangroves and Pombas Island

This two-hour kayaking expedition enables you to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Paraty Bay, where the sea blends with lush mangroves and tropical scenery. The adventure kicks off at Praia do Pontal with a session on safety and kayaking techniques.

We’ll begin our journey by paddling towards Jabaquara, leaving the town behind as we venture into the coastal flora. The route meanders through the intricate channels of the Paraty mangroves, offering an up-close look at this unique ecosystem.

During the mangrove exploration, you might encounter birds, crabs, and on occasion, capybaras in their natural setting. Afterwards, we’ll return to the open waters, heading for Pombas Island, a small islet known for its lush vegetation, which includes bromeliads and cacti.

The return to Praia do Pontal offers stunning views of the bay alongside the mountains draped in Atlantic Forest, bringing the tour to a close at the initial meeting point.

As we paddle upstream, the changing scenery will reveal a different aspect of Paraty. We’ll glide gently along the riverbanks, taking in the lush vegetation and the rich biodiversity native to the Perequê-Açu ecosystem.

During our trip, you’ll have chances to observe various bird species, fish, and original riverside flora, along with insights into the aquatic environment and its natural equilibrium.

Keep your eyes alert: with a bit of good fortune, you may see capybaras, which frequent this area and can sometimes be spotted in groups along the banks. Various birds and wildlife may also greet us, but their appearances rely on nature’s unpredictability.

Sunrise Kayaking Tour

This experience offers you the chance to witness the sunrise over Paraty Bay during a morning kayaking trip.

As we paddle, we can enjoy the shifting colors of the sky and admire the golden hues reflecting on the water as the town awakens. The journey unfolds in a serene atmosphere, accompanied by the sounds of nature and the songs of local birds.

Sunset Kayaking Tour

This tour presents the opportunity to explore Paraty Bay by kayak during the late afternoon and witness the stunning sunset over the sea and mountains. It caters to all ages and requires no prior paddling experience.

Your adventure begins at Praia do Pontal with a brief session on basic kayaking techniques and safety precautions. We will then paddle towards Ilha do Pombo and Praia do Jabaquara, enveloped by the region’s vibrant tropical landscape.

Next, we’ll navigate to the mouth of the Perequê-Açu River, where the river meets the bay and coastal vegetation. Throughout the route, you may observe various species of birds, fish, and local wildlife in their natural habitats.

As we return to Praia do Pontal, enjoy the breathtaking sunset, with its colors shimmering in the water. The experience concludes at the beach where it began, providing a tranquil setting perfect for capturing unforgettable landscapes.
