Tour Details
This tour will begin at the Place Pierre-Kauffmann, next to rue des Barres, in the 4th arrondissement. The picturesque street features cobblestones and buildings such as the Hôtel de Barre and the nuns' house of the Daughters of the Cross.
We'll visit the Shoah Memorial, Europe's first Jewish documentation center, and enter the Jewish Quarter of Paris. At the Hôtel de Sens gardens, we will discuss the Coquette Palace and its historical significance. Next, we'll visit Square Marie Trintignant, observing 19th-century graffiti on its façade.
The tour will proceed to Le Village Saint-Paul, highlighting its medieval charm. Participants will face a challenge to navigate a dead-end street. Next, we will seek out the three treasures of Le Marais, including the only piece of Delacroix outside a museum. We will then visit the Hôtel de Sully and explore the patio and garden, with a challenge of not returning.
The tour will conclude at the Place de la Bastille, where we will discuss the storming of the fort on July 14, 1789, marking the onset of the French Revolution. The duration of the tour is 2 hours, ending at Place de la Bastille.
