Description
We'll meet at Piazza Carlo Alberto dalla Chiesa to provide bicycles for a journey to explore Parma's cityscape and cuisine.
Parma is renowned for its Parmesan cheese and ham, as well as its rich historical and artistic heritage. During the bike ride, we will pass by palaces, churches, and theaters while enjoying Parma's gastronomy.
We will go past the Palazzo Ducale, a 16th-century structure designed by architect Jacopo Vignola, as well as Palazzo della Pilotta and Teatro Farnese, two landmarks of Parma.
We will stop at the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and its baptistery to sample authentic prosciutto from Parma and Parmesan cheese, paired with a glass of wine. This highlights why Parma was named the Creative City of Gastronomy in 2015.
To conclude our food tour, we will visit a local pastry shop to enjoy the Duchess Cake, a dessert created for Duchess Maria Luisa of Parma, consisting of hazelnuts, custard, liqueur, and chocolate ganache.
The tour will last 3 and a half hours, concluding with the return of bicycles to the starting point.
