During this tour we'll visit some of the villages located on the slopes of the volcano. After a road trip surrounded by coffee plantations and canyons, we'll arrive at Genoy, a community just 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) from the Galeras volcano.
Next, we will stop in the municipality of Nariño to buy the famous yucca wrappers, a typical sweet. We will then visit La Florida, where agriculture and livestock farming are significant, as well as a variety of dairy products.
We will travel to the community of Sandoná, where a short walk will lead to a waterfall. On the return, we will meet local weavers who craft objects from tropical palm fibre. We'll visit a local farm for a homemade lunch and experience their high-altitude coffee.
We'll walk through the main square to see the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Sandoná and then head to Consaca. There, we'll visit sugar mills and taste melcocha sandoneña.
