La Cocha Lagoon & Santa Lucía Wetlands Excursion
At 7:30 am we'll meet at Plaza de Nariño and head to the department of Putumayo, where the first of the natural wonders we'll visit on this tour is located.
After a 40-minute trip, we'll arrive at La Cocha Lagoon, the second-largest freshwater reserve in Colombia. We'll hike through the town of El Puerto, located on the shores of the lake, and see wooden Swiss-inspired houses.
Following the hike, we'll take a boat ride on La Cocha Lagoon to reach the Santa Lucía wetlands, an area protected by the Ramsar Convention. Here we'll stroll through a valley of frailejones, plants endemic to this ecosystem.
Halfway, we'll stop at a local farm for lunch prepared with organic products from the farm. Next, we'll travel to the community of Torres de Paz, where we'll learn about the history of this historic monument that symbolizes harmony.
Finally, we'll return to Pasto and arrive at the departure point at 7:30 pm.
