La Cocha Lagoon, Santa Lucía Wetlands Tour + Guamúes River Fishing
We'll meet at 7:30 am in front of the Nariño monument to head towards La Cocha Lake, the first natural attraction of our itinerary. In less than an hour, we'll arrive at this lake, the second largest in Colombia.
Here we'll start a walk along the path of El Puerto, which runs beside a stream. Then, we'll take a boat to sail through the wetlands of Santa Lucia, a protected area featuring the lowest moorlands in the country, located at 2600 metres (8530 feet) above sea level.
We'll walk among the valleys of frailejones, plants that grow one centimetre annually. Next, we'll proceed to the village of Santa Isabel for a homemade lunch at a local family's house.
In the afternoon, we'll take another boat on the Guámuez River to engage in fishing. We'll find a suitable spot for fishing before returning to the mainland, where we'll stop at a hotel overlooking La Cocha lake for refreshments. Finally, we'll return to Pasto, arriving at approximately 7:30 pm.
