La Cocha Lagoon, Santa Lucía Wetlands Tour + Guamúes River Fishing
We'll meet at 7:30 am in front of the Nariño monument to head towards La Cocha Lake, the first natural attraction of our itinerary. In less than an hour, we'll arrive at the lake, the second largest in Colombia.
Here we'll start a walk along the path of El Puerto, which runs along the banks of a stream. Then, we'll take a boat to sail through the wetlands of Santa Lucia, a protected area with the lowest moorlands in the country, located at 2600 metres (8530 feet) above sea level.
We'll walk along its paths through the valleys of frailejones, plants that can reach up to two metres in height, growing one centimetre every year. Next, we'll travel to the village of Santa Isabel for a homemade lunch.
In the afternoon, we'll take another boat on the Guámuez River for fishing, one of the area's popular activities. We'll find the right spot to fish.
Afterwards, we'll return to the mainland and stop at a hotel overlooking La Cocha lake for refreshments. Finally, we'll return to Pasto and leave you at the departure point at around 7:30 pm.
