Embark on a captivating day trip to discover the rich indigenous heritage of Colombia. This journey will lead you to a profound encounter with one of the most ancient ethnic groups of the country, the Inga community in Sibundoy.
Experience the Inga Community in Sibundoy
Our meeting point is set for 7:30 am by the statue of Antonio Nariño, where we will commence our adventure towards Sibundoy.
As we travel away from the lush Amazon rainforest, we will traverse the stunning Andean mountain ranges, ultimately arriving at the scenic Sibundoy Valley, nestled in the northwest of the Putumayo region. Upon our arrival, we will engage with the Inga or Camsá community, an indigenous group integral to this fascinating part of Colombia.
The community members will share insights into their traditions and cultural practices, guiding us through their village and homes. We will explore their understanding of traditional medicine, a wealth of knowledge that has been carefully preserved across generations.
During this immersive experience, we will learn about the foundational aspects of the Andean perspective, as interpreted by the Ingas, and take a tour of the chagras, which are small plots of land used for indigenous farming.
Lunchtime will feature a nutritious meal prepared with local ingredients, followed by a harmonizing spiritual ceremony in the afternoon that promises to rejuvenate your spirit.
Eventually, we will board our vehicle for the return journey to our starting point in Pasto, arriving approximately at 5:30 pm.
