Visit to an Inga Community in Sibundoy
We'll meet at 7:30 am next to the statue of Antonio Nariño and set off for a day trip to Sibundoy. As we travel away from the Amazon rainforest, we will pass through Andean mountain ranges until we reach the Sibundoy Valley in the northwest Putumayo region. There, we will visit an Inga or Camsá community, an indigenous ethnic group of the area.
The tribe members will teach us about their culture and traditions, providing a tour of their village and dwellings. We will learn about traditional medicine, a knowledge passed down through generations. We will explore the basic principles of the Andean worldview observed by the Ingas and take a tour of the chagras, small indigenous cultivation plots.
At noon, a healthy lunch made from local products and crops will be served. In the afternoon, we will participate in a harmonizing spiritual ceremony designed to refresh and renew. Finally, we will return to the meeting point in Pasto, arriving around 5:30 pm.
