Immerse yourself in Thailand's rich cultural, historical and architectural heritage on this day trip to the ancient capital city: Ayutthaya.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at National Stadium BTS Station. Then we'll make our way to the Bang Pa-In Royal Palace in an air-conditioned vehicle, arriving at 10 am. This former Thai King's summer royal residence features a riverside palace complex with notable architecture.

Next, we'll continue to the ruins of Ayutthaya, founded in 1350 as the second capital of the Siamese Kingdom. The city was destroyed by the Burmese army in 1767, leaving behind ancient structures that offer a glimpse into the past. The numerous tree roots around scattered Buddha heads enhance the historical ambiance of the site.

After exploring, we'll stop for lunch at a local restaurant. You'll have several hours to visit significant ancient religious sites, including Wat Mahathat, with a large Buddha head among tree roots, Wat Mongkol Borpit, home to an enormous seated Buddha statue, and Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, the most important complex in the ancient capital.

Lastly, we'll explore Wat Chaiwatthanaram, known for its impressive stone Thai Buddhist chedis monument, which contributed to Ayutthaya's UNESCO status in 1991.

Finally, we will return to Bangkok with your camera full of photos.
