Bangkok Grand Palace Guided Tour Itinerary

The Grand Palace is Bangkok's most important monument, built in the late 18th century as a royal residence. The palace complex houses beautifully designed buildings, temples, gardens, and courtyards, which are still utilized for ceremonies and state functions. On the day of your tour, you will be picked up from your hotel in central Bangkok and transported to the Grand Palace, where you will discover the myths and legends surrounding it. The architecture features delicately carved scenes on the gold-lacquered roofs of the Phra Thinang or "Throne Halls."

Within the complex is Wat Phra Kaew, or the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, home to a revered Buddha statue carved from jade and clothed in gold. The guided tour will also visit the Coronation Throne Hall, Royal Reception Hall, Royal Funeral Hall, Golden Chedi, and the Royal Pantheon. After the tour, you will be returned to your hotel.

Dress code

The Grand Palace enforces a strict dress code:

Dress in long trousers or a skirt (ankle-length), a long-sleeved shirt, and closed shoes.

Visitors will not be allowed entry if wearing:

Shorts, mini skirts, culottes, ripped trousers, sleeveless or rolled-up shirts, sportswear, or sandals.

Wearing socks is recommended as you will need to remove your shoes to visit the Buddha statues.
