Temples, throne halls and the Emerald Buddha: immerse yourself in the cultural heritage of Bangkok's Grand Palace on this guided English-language tour.
Bangkok Grand Palace Guided Tour Itinerary
The Grand Palace is Bangkok's most important monument, built in the late 18th century as a royal residence. The palace complex includes buildings, temples, gardens, and courtyards that host ceremonies and state functions. On the tour day, you will be picked up from your hotel in central Bangkok and taken to the Grand Palace to explore its myths and legends. The architecture features delicately carved scenes and gold-lacquered multi-tiered roofs.
The complex houses several temples, notably Wat Phra Kaew, or the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, which is Thailand's most sacred temple. It houses a revered 26-inch-tall (66 cm) jade Buddha figurine clothed in gold. Additionally, the tour includes visits to the Coronation Throne Hall, Royal Reception Hall, Royal Funeral Hall, Golden Chedi, and Royal Pantheon. At the tour's end, you will return to your hotel.
Dress Code
A strict dress code is enforced for entering the Grand Palace:
Wear long trousers or skirt (to ankles), long-sleeved shirt, and covered shoes.
Visitors will not be permitted to enter wearing:
Shorts, mini skirts, culottes, tight or ripped trousers, sleeveless shirts, see-through clothes, sportswear, or sandals.
Wearing socks is recommended as shoes must be removed to visit Buddha statues.
