On this tour of Beijing's hutongs, we will explore the narrow alleys that make up the old town of the Chinese capital. Are you ready to discover its most traditional side?
Tour Details
At the appointed time, we will meet at Exit I of the Qianmen subway station and from there we will walk along this busy shopping street, a perfect place to delve into the history of Beijing.
As we stroll along, we will gradually reveal the secrets of the capital's narrow alleys. We will venture into Xianyukou, known as “fresh fish street,” a spot favored for enjoying street food and learning about Beijing's culinary traditions.
Afterwards, we will visit Sanlihe Hutong, where we will observe the evolution of these alleys into a prominent commercial and residential area.
Next, we will return to the heart of Beijing to stroll through Dashilan Hutong, over 500 years old and a prime location to explore the traditional culture, with architecture from the Ming and Qing dynasties well preserved.
For our last stop, we will head to Fangjia Hutong, enjoying the mix of old and modern Beijing with trendy bars, restaurants, unique hostels, themed shops, and street vendors, set against a backdrop of traditional gray houses and ancient trees.
At this last stop, we will conclude the 2.5 hour tour.
