Tour Description

At the indicated time, head to Liyuan Theater to enjoy a traditional dinner and an opera show in Beijing. The experience includes a traditional Beijing dinner lasting about an hour and a half, featuring soup, chicken, prawns or meat stir-fry, with vegetables and rice. If the group exceeds four people, Peking duck may be served.

After dinner, you will learn about the characterisation and preparation of the actors before the show. The hour-long opera show features music, singing, mime, dance, and acrobatics with artists in elaborate costumes. It narrates historical or fictional stories around four main characters: sheng (man), dan (young woman), jing (man with painted face), and chou (clown). These characters embody themes such as loyalty, betrayal, beauty, and evil.

After a total of 2.5 hours, the experience will conclude in Beijing.
