Beijing Traditional Dinner + Opera Show

Discover the cuisine, culture and folklore of the Chinese capital with this traditional dinner and Peking opera show at the Liyuan Theater Hotel.

Tour Description

At the indicated time, head to Liyuan Theater to enjoy a traditional dinner and an opera show in Beijing. For approximately 1.5 hours, you'll savor a traditional Beijing dinner that may include soup, chicken, prawn or meat stir-fry, and vegetables with rice. A group of more than 4 may receive Peking duck.

Following the meal, there will be an introduction to the characterisation and preparation of the actors before the show. Then, enjoy an hour-long opera show, a musical genre developed in the late 18th century in Beijing, combining music, singing, mime, dance, and acrobatics performed in elaborate costumes.

Each opera features a historical or fictional story centered around four main characters: sheng (a man), dan (a young woman), jing (a man with a painted face), and chou (a clown, man or woman), often representing themes such as loyalty, betrayal, beauty, or evil.

After a total of 2.5 hours, the experience concludes in Beijing.
