China Tour Package: 12 Days

Day 1: Arrival in Beijing

Upon landing at Beijing airport, a guide will greet you with a sign featuring your name. Following this, you will be escorted to your hotel, where accommodations are secured for the next three nights. After check-in, you will enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure.

Day 2: Exploring Beijing

After breakfast, the tour will kick off with a visit to the city’s historic centre, featuring landmark sites including Tiananmen Square, the largest square globally, known for its pivotal political events. As we continue, we’ll delve into the past at the Forbidden City, home to the impressive Imperial Palace where Chinese Emperors reigned until 1911.

Around noon, we will enjoy a meal at a local eatery to taste traditional Pekingese dishes. Post-lunch, the journey resumes towards the renowned Hutongs, a testament to the Yuan Ming and Qing dynasties. Our next destination will be Jingshan Park, where you’ll behold breathtaking views of the Forbidden City.

By 5:30 pm, we will return to the hotel, allowing you the rest of the day to relax.

Day 3: The Great Wall of China - Beijing

This day centers around one of China's most enduring symbols and global wonders, the Great Wall of China. Following breakfast, we will depart from the hotel to the outskirts of Beijing.

At the Mutianyu entrance, a cable car ride will elevate us, providing stunning vistas of one of the Seven Modern Wonders of the World. The Great Wall stretches an impressive 6,000 kilometres (3,700 miles)!

At roughly 12:30 pm, lunch will be at a local restaurant before heading back to Beijing. The excursion will also include visits to two venues created for the 2008 Olympic Games: the National Stadium, known as the Bird's Nest, and the National Aquatics Centre, or Water Cube.

We plan to return to the hotel around 5:30 pm.

Day 4: From Beijing to Xi'an

After breakfast, we’ll set off to explore the magnificent Temple of Heaven in Beijing, the largest structure dedicated to Heaven in the country. There’s a chance to observe locals practicing tai chi.

At approximately 12:30 pm, we’ll take you directly to the railway station, where you will board a bullet train to Xi'an independently. This train journey lasts about 5 hours, and upon arrival in Xi'an, your name will be displayed on a sign as we escort you to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your discretion.

Day 5: Terracotta Warriors - Xi'an

On this day, the spotlight is on the famed Terracotta Warriors. Post-breakfast, we will venture outside Xi'an to witness one of the most significant archaeological finds. Upon reaching the Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum, over 8,000 life-sized terracotta figures of warriors and horses will await your discovery.

This UNESCO World Heritage site features the sculptures arranged around three moats, ranging from 4 to 8 metres deep. The Terracotta Warriors were placed just 1.5 km from the tomb of the first emperor of the Qin dynasty.

At 12:30 pm, we’ll head to a local restaurant for lunch before returning to Xi'an, where we will visit the exceptionally well-preserved Bell Tower and the vibrant Muslim quarter. The afternoon will include a visit to the North Square of the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, a spacious area adorned with fountains and sculptures for an exquisite view.

Day 6: Xi'an

Following breakfast, the itinerary will include a guided exploration of Xi'an's historic centre. We will first visit the City Wall, one of China’s oldest and longest defensive structures. Next, the journey will take us to the Small Wild Goose Pagoda to enjoy an authentic traditional performance.

At midday, you’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Post-refueling, the visit continues to the Gao Courtyard, for a captivating Chinese shadow show, followed by some leisure time within the lively Muslim Quarter.

By 5:30 pm, we’ll escort you back to the hotel.

Day 7: Xi'an to Guilin

This segment of the tour transitions from Xi'an to Guilin. We will collect you from your hotel and take you to the Xi'an train station, where you’ll embark on a high-speed train to Guilin. Expect a train ride of approximately 10 hours. Once you arrive, our guide will welcome you and take you to your hotel, with the remaining day free for you to explore.

Day 8: Li River Cruise - Guilin

After breakfast, we will gather in the lobby and travel to Guilin port to embark on a 4-hour boat cruise along the spectacular Li River. This picturesque journey will provide delightful views until we reach Yangshuo, where we will enjoy lunch on board

Upon arrival in Yangshuo, we will disembark and stroll along West Street, the area’s oldest thoroughfare, for an hour of exploration through its shops and cafés, before heading back to Guilin.

Return to the hotel is scheduled for 5:30 pm.

Day 9: Journey from Guilin to Shanghai

After a fulfilling breakfast, we will head to the Elephant Trunk Hill, a symbol of Guilin. Curious about its name? You will find out soon! This unique rock formation has karstic origins and extends into the Li River, where we will hike to the summit for magnificent views. A short stroll around the river will follow, including a visit to the Riyue Shuangta Cultural Park.

During the afternoon, lunch awaits you at a local restaurant. Post-meal, we’ll explore the Reed Flute Cave, renowned for being one of the most stunning caves in China and across the globe.

Later, we’ll take you to the train station in Guilin to catch a high-speed train to Shanghai, a distance of over 1,500 km (932 mi) . Your overnight stay will take place in the city.

Day 10: Arrival in Shanghai

At dawn, we’ll wake up on the train, greeted by the enchanting views of eastern China. After a travel time of 20 hours, we will finally arrive in Shanghai. A guide will again show up with a sign for easy identification, taking you to your hotel where you will have the remainder of the day for personal pursuits.

Day 11: Touring Shanghai

At 9:00 am, we will collect you from the hotel to embark on a tour of Shanghai’s most iconic landmarks. Our first destination is one of the neighborhoods celebrated for its traditional architecture, the Shikumen. Next, we’ll visit the Yu Garden, a masterpiece of the Ming dynasty.

At around 12:30 pm, lunch will be arranged at a local restaurant, after which we’ll proceed to Shanghai Old Street. We’ll continue our journey with a walk along the Bund, renowned for its stunning views of the city skyline and featuring the iconic Oriental Pearl Tower. You’ll even have the opportunity to ascend the first and second spheres of this remarkable tower.

Later, a visit to the Shanghai History Museum will reveal the alluring narrative of the city’s past. We plan to return you to the hotel around 5:30 pm, leaving the rest of the evening free for you.

Day 12: Departure from Shanghai

Following breakfast, we will head towards Shanghai airport. The exact pickup time will be based on your flight schedule.

Important Information

To participate in this tour, please ensure you have a flight arriving in Beijing and a flight departing from Shanghai, with arrivals scheduled on your booking date and departures planned for twelve days hence. For instance, arriving on a Monday means you would depart the following Friday.

It is essential to note that during the train rides, a guide will not accompany you, but a representative will be available at each station to meet you with a sign for identification.

Additionally, the guide will not be present on the fourth, seventh, tenth, and twelfth days of the itinerary.

Meals Included in the Tour

5 lunches are included during this 12-day tour in China, excluding the first, fourth, seventh, tenth, and final days. Evening meals are left to your discretion.

Your accommodation includes breakfast each day of the tour.
