Discover the hutongs, historic temples, business district, Olympic Village, and modern shopping streets of Beijing.
Description
After hotel pickup at the specified time, we will visit the Drum Tower, which historically announced the time in Beijing since the 3rd century.
Next, we will explore the hutongs, the city's oldest alleys, using a traditional rickshaw to see local residents living a traditional lifestyle.
We will then continue to the Yonghe Temple, the most significant Tibetan Buddhist temple outside of Tibet.
In the skyscraper district of Guomao, we will witness the city's striking contrasts and enjoy lunch in this area.
Post-lunch, we will visit the Olympic Village, featuring the iconic Bird's Nest and Water Cube from the 2008 Olympic Games.
The tour proceeds to China's National Centre for the Performing Arts, known as "The Egg," a notable modern architectural piece that generated considerable debate.
We will conclude by passing through Wangfujing, Beijing's primary and modern shopping street. While we recommend exploring this area further, we can also return you to your hotel, with the tour lasting about 8 hours from pickup.
