Explore the less-visited part of the Great Wall of China on this tour of the Huangya Great Wall and the Qing Tombs. A unique historical tour!

Tour Details

This tour begins with a pickup from your hotel in Beijing, followed by a drive to the border between Beijing and Tianjin. The journey takes approximately 3 hours to reach the Huangya entrance gate.

Participants will walk over 3 kilometers (almost 1.9 miles) along the wall, passing 20 watchtowers and a fortress. During the ascent, discussions will cover the Ming Dynasty and the architectural significance of Huangyaguan within the Northern Qi Dynasty.

After the walk, a traditional Chinese lunch will be provided at a nearby restaurant to refresh.

Post-lunch, the tour continues to the Qing Tombs, which feature 17th-century mausoleums, including the burial site of the first Qing emperor. This site is noted as the largest and best-preserved necropolis in China.

Visitors will see the decorated funeral chambers housing the remains of 5 emperors, over 100 concubines, empresses, princes, and princesses of the Qing Dynasty.

The tour concludes with a return to Beijing, dropping participants off at their hotel approximately nine hours after the initial pickup.
