Tiananmen, Forbidden City, and Hutongs Tour

  • 8 Stunden

Visit Tiananmen Square, the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong, the Forbidden City, and the traditional hutong streets during this guided tour of Beijing.

Description

Your tour begins with a hotel pickup at the scheduled time. The first stop is Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world. Key sights include the Qianmen Tower and the Mausoleum of Mao, which will be viewed from the outside.

Next, we proceed to the entrance of the Forbidden City, the largest imperial residence in China, which housed 24 emperors over more than 5 centuries. The tour includes exploring key areas and learning about its legends.

Afterward, enjoy some free time for a meal and rest. In the afternoon, a traditional rickshaw ride through Beijing's hutongs will allow you to experience the city's historical atmosphere and observe daily life there. The tour concludes back at your hotel (or an alternate location) 8 hours after pickup.

Itinerary changes

This is a private tour, allowing you to modify the itinerary as desired by discussing it with your guide at the excursion's start. In winter or on early finishes, a visit to Yonghe Temple (Lama Temple) may also be included.

Important information

The Forbidden City is closed every Monday; consider visiting the Great Wall of China or the Temple of Heaven on that day instead. Advance booking (at least 7 days) is recommended due to limited access during busy times.

Required documents

When reserving, you must provide passport details for each participant. Ensure accuracy, as changes are not possible later. Bring your passport on the day of the tour.

Beijing Layover Tour

If you're in Beijing for a layover, you can book a Beijing Layover Tour to visit significant monuments like the Great Wall and the Forbidden City, depending on your available time.
