The Castle of Peñaranda de Duero is one of the main fortresses in the south of the province of Burgos.

With your ticket, you'll have access to the Torre del Homenaje, or Tower of Homage. Inside, you can visit the Interpretation Center of the Border Castles, which contains panels, models, and interactive screens depicting the area's medieval past. You will learn about the history of the castle, which was remodeled by the Zúñiga family in the 15th century.

Don't miss the dungeons in the basement and the top floor of the tower, which features a lookout point with panoramic views of Peñaranda de Duero.

In November 2025, the opening hours of the Tower of Homage are as follows:

Friday, Saturday and Sunday: from 10:30 am to 2 pm and 3 pm to 5:30 pm

Final admission is 30 minutes before closing.

Special Opening Hours in 2025

On Thursday, November 27, Friday, November 28 and Saturday, November 29, the Tower of Homage will be open from 3 pm to 6 pm. It will be closed on Sunday, November 30.
