Come and see the pride and joy of Castellón on our San José Caves Day Trip from Peniscola. You'll admire the geological beauty of this stunning spot, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, on foot and by boat.
San José Caves Day Trip
At the designated time, we'll meet in front of the Peniscola Tourist Office and begin our San José Caves Day Trip. The journey to these caves, located in Vall de Uxó within the Sierra Espadán Natural Park, covers 65 miles (105 kilometers).
The San José Caves were inhabited over 15,000 years ago. During the trip, you'll learn significant facts while taking a boat ride through the caves' interior, navigating the longest underground river in Europe. The exact depth of the caves remains unmeasured by speleologists.
From the boat, you’ll observe striking stalactites and stalagmites within the Vall de Uxó caves and walk through a 820-foot (250 meter) long gallery. The cave’s temperature remains constant at 20ºC throughout the year.
After 40 minutes of exploring the caves and learning about their geological features, we will return to ground level. The total duration of the trip from start to finish is approximately 5 to 6 hours.
