Come with us for a day filled with flavours and traditions at the heart of Colombia's coffee region in this Campesino Cheese workshop. We'll visit a finca and learn all the secrets behind this tasty product!
Tour Details
We will meet in front of Hotel Movich de Pereira and proceed to Villa Claudia, where the workshop will take place. We will walk towards Olaya Herrera Park and take the Megacable to the station where a Willys will await us. This vehicle will transport us for about 25 minutes to the finca.
Upon arrival at Villa Claudia, we will be welcomed with chocolate, arepa, and cheese for breakfast. While eating, caretakers will discuss their sustainable practices and coexistence with nature.
After breakfast, we will begin preparing Campesino Cheese, a moist, fresh, and soft cheese native to Colombia. You will learn about this widely consumed product.
During the cheese's resting stage, we will explore the finca's surroundings and understand the roles of its workers. At noon, we will have a homestyle lunch consisting of sancocho, a meat and vegetable soup.
After lunch, we will weigh and package the cheese we prepared with organic coverings for you to take home. Finally, 5 hours after starting the workshop, we will conclude at our original meeting point.
