Come with us for a day filled with flavours and traditions at the heart of Colombia's coffee region in this Campesino Cheese workshop. We'll visit a finca and learn all the secrets behind this tasty product!
Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet in front of Hotel Movich de Pereira and make our way to Villa Claudia, where the workshop will take place.
We'll walk towards Olaya Herrera Park and hop on the Megacable, Pereira's cable car, to the station where a Willys awaits us. We will travel about 25 minutes to the finca.
Upon arrival at Villa Claudia, hosts will greet us with a breakfast of chocolate, arepa, and cheese. While we eat, caretakers will explain their sustainable practices and how they live in harmony with nature and animals.
After breakfast, we will start preparing Campesino Cheese, known for being moist, fresh, and soft. You will learn about this popular product in Colombia.
During the cheese's resting stage, we will explore the finca's surroundings to understand the work of its workers. At noon, we will have a homestyle lunch: sancocho, a soup made with meat and vegetables.
After the meal, we will weigh the cheese we made and package it with organic coverings to take home. Finally, 5 hours after starting the workshop, we will return to our original meeting point.
