- 9 Stunden
Venture into Colombia's coffee-growing region to explore Filandia and Salento, and prepare for a walk in the Cocora Valley.
Description
After your hotel pickup, we'll depart from Pereira for a 50-minute drive to our first destination, Cocora Valley. Here, we'll walk among various shades of green, discovering the story of the Princess Cocora while visiting 3 different viewpoints to appreciate the Wax Palm and the landscape.
Post lunch, we continue to Salento, an Antioquian-style town known for its lively streets and colorful facades. We’ll explore its houses and balconies leading to the Calle Real, the town's heart. Along the way, we’ll mention the Camino del Quindío, the traditional route between Cartago and Ibagué, especially during the Camino del Quindío Festival.
To enjoy panoramic views of Salento, we'll visit the Alto de la Cruz viewpoint, popular among locals and visitors. Next, we'll stop at La Colina Iluminada for views of Quindio before heading to Filandia for a 2-hour guided tour of the town.
In Filandia, we’ll explore local stores, visit the Street of Stopped Time, discover the bustling Central Park for coffee farmers, view the Templo María Inmaculada church, learn about basket weaving, and visit the Museo de los Abuelos.
Finally, we will return to Pereira to conclude this 9-hour tour.
