La Virginia & El Guásimo Excursion

Pickup is at 7:30 am from your hotel in Pereira, followed by a journey of 35 kilometers to La Virginia.

The first stop is the El Guásimo Natural Reserve, spanning 1,400 hectares of the Cauca River Valley, where participants embark on a three-hour walk along the nature trail in the park.

Upon reaching the Cauca River, we will travel along its pathway for an hour, navigating the dry tropical forest, notable as the only one of its kind in the Andean region, thereby emphasizing the park's importance in conserving 400 hectares of this ecosystem.

The journey allows for observation of the rich diversity of flora and fauna in this protected area, blending physical activity with nature and environmental stewardship.

A meal featuring a regional dish and a drink is provided during the tour. Afterward, we proceed to La Virginia, a charming town by the Cauca and Risaralda rivers, where participants will learn about local attractions, legends, and traditions.

We conclude the tour with a return to Pereira, dropping participants off at their hotel by approximately 1:30 pm.
