La Virginia & El Guásimo Excursion

We'll pick you up at 7:30 am at your hotel in Pereira and set off towards La Virginia, located 35 kilometers away. On the way, we'll first stop at the El Guásimo Natural Reserve, which occupies 1,400 hectares of the Cauca River Valley. Here, we'll go on a three-hour walk along the nature trail that runs through the park.

Once we reach the Cauca River, we'll follow its course for an hour, crossing the lush vegetation of the dry tropical forest, the only forest of its kind in the Andean region. The park's work protects 400 hectares of this forest.

During the tour, we'll see the great diversity of flora and fauna of this protected area. A visit that combines sport, nature, and environmental preservation. We will take a break for lunch consisting of a regional dish and a drink before completing the journey to La Virginia, a town by the Cauca and Risaralda rivers where we'll learn about its main attractions, local legends, and traditions.

Finally, we'll return to Pereira and drop you off at your hotel around 1:30 pm.
