La Virginia & El Guásimo Excursion

Pickup will be at 7:30 am from your hotel in Pereira, followed by a journey to La Virginia, situated 35 kilometers away.

The first stop will be at the El Guásimo Natural Reserve, covering 1,400 hectares in the Cauca River Valley. Here, participants will engage in a three-hour walk along the park's nature trail.

Upon reaching the Cauca River, we will follow its path for an hour, traversing the dry tropical forest—unique to the Andean region. The park plays a crucial role in protecting 400 hectares of this type of forest.

Throughout the tour, the rich diversity of flora and fauna in the protected area will be observed. This experience merges sport, nature, and environmental preservation.

A lunch consisting of a regional dish and a drink will be included. Afterward, we will proceed to La Virginia, a town enriched by the Cauca and Risaralda rivers, where the main attractions, local legends, and traditions will be explored.

The return to Pereira for hotel drop-off is expected around 1:30 pm.
