Marsella Excursion
After picking you up at your hotel in Pereira at 7:30 am, we'll head north towards the town of Marsella, traveling through the coffee plantations of the Cauca River Valley in a 4x4 vehicle.
Upon our arrival in Marsella about an hour later, we'll visit a local farm, where we'll enjoy an appetizer of patacones con hogao, made with organic ingredients from their garden.
Next, we’ll explore the farm to see their fields of cacao trees and learn about the artisanal process of making organic chocolate, including the extraction, roasting, and grinding of cacao beans into a delicious chocolate drink, which will accompany a typical lunch of sancocho.
After lunch, we’ll travel to the town of Marsella for a Colombian coffee in the main square. Here, we’ll admire the colonial architecture of Casa de la Cultura, which houses a museum declared an Asset of Cultural Heritage.
We'll also visit the Botanical Garden and the José María Cemetery, key attractions in Marsella.
Finally, we will return to Pereira, dropping you off at your hotel at 4:30 pm.
