Marsella Excursion
After picking you up at your hotel in Pereira at 7:30 am, we'll head north towards the town of Marsella, traveling through the coffee plantations of the Cauca River Valley in a 4x4 vehicle.
Upon arrival in Marsella about an hour later, we'll visit a local farm for an appetizer of patacones con hogao, made with organic products from their garden.
You will walk through the farm to see the cacao trees and learn about the artisanal process of making organic chocolate. You will observe the extraction, roasting, and grinding of cacao beans, ultimately producing a chocolate drink that will accompany a typical lunch like sancocho (with chicken and vegetables), all sourced from the farm.
Post-lunch, we will travel to the town of Marsella for a Colombian coffee in the main square, admiring colonial architecture in buildings like the Casa de la Cultura, designated as an Asset of Cultural Heritage.
We will visit the Botanical Garden and the José María Cemetery, notable attractions in Marsella.
Finally, we will return to Pereira, dropping you off at your hotel at 4:30 pm.
