Pisa Cathedral, Baptistery & Leaning Tower Tour Itinerary

After meeting your guide by the Porta Santa Maria archway, you'll enter the Piazza dei Miracoli. You'll discover the secrets of this iconic square, starting with the Pisa Cathedral, or Duomo. Inside, you'll learn about its 11th-century construction and admire artworks including mosaics, paintings, frescoes, sculptures, and the pulpit.

Next, you'll enjoy a guided tour of the Baptistery, dedicated to St John the Baptist. This is the largest Catholic baptistery in the world. Your 2-hour tour concludes in front of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, where your guide will share insights about its architecture and history.

If you book the tour with the Leaning Tower entrance, you'll receive tickets to the Museo delle Sinopie and the Museo Opera del Duomo after the tour for independent visits.

Climb the Leaning Tower of Pisa

When reserving, you can choose to include the climb of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. This part of the tour takes one hour after the guided portion to enjoy views of the city.

Please note that you must select this option to participate; without it, the climb will not occur.

Children under 8

For safety reasons, children under the age of 8 are not allowed to climb the leaning tower.

Visit to the Baptistery

When baptisms occur or during renovation works at the Baptistery, access to the monument is restricted. In these cases, the Monumental Cemetery of Pisa will be visited instead.

2025 Jubilee

During the 2025 Jubilee, the Cathedral may be closed or partially accessible. On such occasions, as well as on Sunday mornings, explanations will be provided from outside the Cathedral.
