Pisa Cathedral, Baptistery & Leaning Tower Tour Itinerary

After meeting your guide by the Porta Santa Maria archway, you'll enter the Piazza dei Miracoli, an important architectural complex. You will discover the secrets of this iconic square starting with the Pisa Cathedral, or Duomo, where you'll learn about its 11th-century construction and admire artworks in the central nave including mosaics, paintings, frescoes, sculptures, and the impressive pulpit.

Next, you'll enjoy a guided tour of the Baptistery, dedicated to St John the Baptist and the largest Catholic baptistry in the world, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour lasts 1.5 to 2 hours, concluding at the Leaning Tower of Pisa, where your guide will explain its history and significance.

If you book the tour with entrance to the Leaning Tower, you will receive tickets to the Museo delle Sinopie and the Museo Opera del Duomo to visit afterwards.

Climb the Leaning Tower of Pisa

You have the option to include climbing the Leaning Tower of Pisa. This will take an additional hour after the guided tour. Please select this option during reservation as it is not included by default. You must also allow for at least 1 additional hour for storing your belongings and completing the tour.

Children Under 8

For safety reasons, children under 8 are not permitted to climb the Leaning Tower.

Visit to the Baptistery

If baptisms are occurring or renovations are taking place, access to the Baptistery will not be possible. We will visit the Monumental Cemetery of Pisa as a substitute.

2025 Jubilee

During the 2025 Jubilee, the Cathedral may be partially open or closed to visitors. On such occasions, as well as on Sunday mornings, the guide will provide explanations from outside.
