Pisa Cathedral, Baptistery & Leaning Tower Tour Itinerary

After meeting your guide by the Porta Santa Maria archway, you'll enter the famous Piazza dei Miracoli. You will explore the austere walls of the Camposanto and the iconic square.

The first stop will be the Pisa Cathedral, known as the Duomo. Inside, you'll learn about its 11th-century construction and admire its collection of artworks, mosaics, frescoes, sculptures, and the pulpit.

Next, you'll have a guided tour of the Baptistery, dedicated to St John the Baptist and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the largest Catholic baptistry in the world.

The tour lasts 1.5 to 2 hours and concludes in front of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Your guide will share insights regarding the tower's leaning and its historical significance.

If you book the tour including the Leaning Tower, you'll receive tickets to the Museo delle Sinopie and the Museo Opera del Duomo for private visits after the tour.

Climb the Leaning Tower of Pisa

When booking, you may select the option to climb the Leaning Tower of Pisa after the guided tour. This will take an additional hour to reach the top for spectacular city views. Ensure to select this option or it will not occur.

Additionally, plan for at least 1 hour to store belongings and participate in the tour.

Children Under 8

Children under 8 are not permitted to climb the tower for safety reasons.

Visit to the Baptistery

If baptisms are happening in the Baptistery or if it is undergoing renovations, access will be restricted, and the Monumental Cemetery of Pisa will be visited as a substitute.

2025 Jubilee

During the 2025 Jubilee, the Cathedral may have limited access for visitors. On such occasions and Sunday mornings, the guide will provide explanations from outside.
