Certosa di Padula Tour
After meeting at your selected point, we'll set off to Padula, home to the Certosa di San Lorenzo, a monastery declared a World Heritage Site in 1998. An expert guide will accompany you on this exploration.
Upon arrival at the Padula Charterhouse, we'll begin by examining its Baroque façade, which characterizes the building despite construction starting in the 14th century.
Next, we will enter the monastic complex to visit its various spaces, which include 350 rooms. The monastery is particularly noted for its Great Cloister from the late 18th century, covering 15,000 square meters.
During the guided tour of the Carthusian Monastery of Padula, we will explore the chapels and the church, featuring 16th and 18th-century frescoes, as well as work areas like laundries, cellars, and the kitchen. This setting provides insight into the life of the Carthusian monks.
Finally, we will return to Pisciotta, where we will drop you off at your hotel or the meeting point after a four-hour excursion.
