Pisciotta Guided Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet on Via Borgo to begin a guided tour of Pisciotta. Ready to explore a medieval village?
From Piazza Pinto, we will walk into the historic center of this Salerno town until we reach the Palazzo Marchesale, birthplace of bishop Luigi Pappacoda, a key figure in promoting the Leccese Baroque style in the late 17th century.
Next, the tour will include visits to two noble chapels and Pisciotta's Chiesa Madre, dating back to the 16th century, which contains important relics and frescoes from the 18th century. Our guide will discuss the Cilento uprisings of 1840 and explore the events that shaped the town's history, distinguishing between fact and legend.
In the final part of the tour, we will stop at a local craft workshop for an explanation of the owner's work, followed by a small tasting of local products. We will have some free time for shopping before concluding this hour-and-a-half walking tour.
