Roccagloriosa Excursion

On this excursion to Roccagloriosa, we'll visit a village located north of Monte Bulgheria, where, according to legend, the parents of the comedian Totò met.

Roccagloriosa Excursion

We'll meet at 5 pm on Via Borgo and leave Pisciotta to head south towards Cilento National Park, located between the gulfs of Salerno and Policastro.

The village of Roccagloriosa is nestled on a hillside, surrounded by scenery that reflects its past. To reach it, we'll cross the northern part of Mount Bulgheria, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll also have the opportunity to see Mount Bulirla from the bus.

Once in Roccagloriosa, we'll stroll through the streets to visit its key landmarks and learn about the municipality's history, with documents tracing its origins back to the 13th century. During our visit to the antique shop and the Civic Museum, which houses archaeological pieces, we will discover that the town is even older.

During the tour, we'll view several noble palaces and discuss Totò, one of Italy's best comedians, whose background involves a secret romance between his mother, Anna Clemente, and the Marquis De Curtis.

We'll conclude by touring the ruins of the castle of Roccagloriosa and visiting some churches.

Finally, we will return to Pisciotta and drop you off at the starting point at 9 pm.
