Velia Archaeological Site Excursion

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Pisciotta or at the established meeting point. From there, we'll head to the archaeological site of Velia, located in the municipality of Ascea Marina. Upon arrival, we'll visit the remains of this ancient place, known as Velia to the Romans and Elea to the Greeks. We'll walk through the agora of Velia, associated with philosophers of the Eleatic school, such as Parmenides, Zeno and Melissus.

We'll also see the acropolis of Elea and the Tower of Velia, built in the Middle Ages. Another site we'll see is the Porta Rosa, the only example of a 4th century Greek arch.

After six hours of excursion, we'll take you back to your hotel in Pisciotta.
