Velia Archaeological Site Excursion

Pickup is available at your hotel in Pisciotta or at an established meeting point. We will travel to the archaeological site of Velia, located in Ascea Marina, within Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park.

At the site, we'll explore the remains of this ancient city, known as Velia by the Romans and Elea by the Greeks. The tour includes a walk through the agora of Velia, historically frequented by philosophers like Parmenides, Zeno, and Melissus.

We will also visit the acropolis of Elea and the Tower of Velia, a medieval Angevin structure. Notably, the site hosts theatrical performances during the summer.

Another highlight is the Porta Rosa (Pink Door), an architectural example of a 4th century Greek arch.

After six hours of exploration, we will return you to your hotel in Pisciotta.
