On this excursion to Puerto Rawson from Trelew, you'll enjoy a RIB boat ride to see Patagonian dolphins.
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet on Marcelino González Avenue, opposite the Puerto Rawson Prefecture. From this pier, we'll take a trip in a semi-rigid boat to attempt to spot local wildlife.
The trip begins along the mouth of the Chubut River. If weather conditions are favorable, we'll see single-haired sea lions. Additionally, we'll spot various Atlantic birds such as seagulls and albatrosses, and admire the yellow fleet of Puerto Rawson.
Next, we'll enter the Atlantic Ocean to observe Patagonian dolphins, also known as Commerson's dolphins, recognized by their distinctive whitish-black color. We will provide interesting facts about these mammals during the cruise.
After about an hour and 15 minutes of sailing, we'll conclude the boat ride by returning to the dock of Puerto Rawson.
What is The Boat Like?
It's a semi-rigid boat measuring 12.75 m (41.8 ft) in length and 4.5 m (14.7 ft) in beam, powered by two 250 horsepower engines, with a capacity for 57 people, including the crew.
Important Info
Please note that although there is a scheduled departure time, the actual departure will depend on the tide. We'll contact you the day before to confirm the exact time.
Dolphin watching
The coast of Puerto Rawson, next to the mouth of the Chubut River, is one of the best places in Argentina to see Patagonian dolphins. However, animal sightings are unpredictable and depend on various factors such as weather and breeding seasons.
