Montenegro Monastery Private Tour: Ostrog, Ždrebaonik and Dajbabe

Start the day by driving toward the Ostrog Monastery (between 45 min to 2 hours and 30 min, depending on the place or city of departure). On the way, enjoy a 30 minutes refreshement break at a local restaurant (not included).

On arrival to the Ostrog Monastery, you will enjoy 90 minutes free time for visiting the Upper and Lower monastery. In the Upper monastery we will bow to the relics of the great Saint Vasily Ostroški and hear and see incredible tales of Ostrog miracles. The Ostrog Monastery was built in the 17th century and it is located in the area of Bjelopavlići, on the cliffs of the Ostroška Greda, 25 km away from Nikšić. It was founded by the Herzegovinian metropolitan Vasily, who was buried there in 1671, and later canonized. St. Vasily Ostroški is known as the Saints Wonderman. Believers of all religions from different parts of the world visit this monastery in large numbers, and for the citizens of Montenegro, it is the greatest sanctuary. The monastery is in third place when it is a word about visits in the Christian world, immediately after Christ’s tomb in Jerusalem and the Holy Mountain in Greece.

Then, you will head to Ždrebaonik Monastery in Danilovgrad. On the way, we will stop at a local restaurant where you will have 1 hour free time for lunch on your own. Have 30 minutes to visit the Ždrebaonik Monastery before driving to the last stop of the day, the Dajbabe Monastery, located 30 minutes away from Danilovgrad. The Dajbabe Monastery is situated near Podgorica and it is believed that it was created with a real miracle. It was founded in 1897 and the natural form of the cave was used as a place for the church. Later the cave was expanded to get the shape of the base of the church, with auxiliary chapels. The visit to the monastery will take 30 minutes approximately.
