Murgia Bike Tour

This bike tour of Murgia combines sport and tourism, allowing participants to enjoy the nature of the Apulia region. The tour begins at Strada Provinciale 230, near the Poggiorsini gas station. Participants will explore the beautiful landscapes of the Murgia region, starting at Jazzo Filieri, an ancient sheepfold at the foot of the Costone Murgiano hill.

Throughout the tour, cyclists will encounter platforms once used by U.S. military forces for testing weapons of mass destruction, highlighting the area's historical significance during the Cold War. The route continues through farms and wheat fields, culminating at the Rocca del Garagnone, a medieval fortress of Norman origin known as the 'invisible castle' due to its limestone surroundings.

After a three-hour journey, the bike tour concludes back at the starting point, offering a memorable exploration of Murgia's landscapes and historical sites.
