Sarangkot Day Trip
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Pokhara and set off towards the coffee plantations of Sarangkot. Our first stop is Lakeside, where we'll stroll along the shores of Phewa Lake. This walk includes views of local fishermen and the surrounding rice terraces.
We'll hike uphill for two hours to reach a village with a vibrant community of coffee producers. Here, we'll explore the village and nearby coffee plantations. We'll also visit a local bee farm to taste the honey produced on-site.
Next, we will connect with local women's cooperatives that craft recyclable handicrafts. You can engage with their stories and visit their store for handmade souvenirs.
We will then delve into the coffee plantations, learning about the cultivation methods. Depending on the season, we might see arabica coffee plants flowering or local coffee growers involved in planting or harvesting.
Additionally, we'll explore the coffee processing center in Khadkathar to understand coffee seed processing, including hulling, sorting, and drying.
Our day will conclude with a local lunch at the farm before returning to Pokhara to drop you off at your hotel approximately 5.5 hours later.
