Explore the rich history of one of the ancient Roman Empire's most intriguing cities during this excursion to the ruins of Herculaneum.

Herculaneum Ruins Excursion

We will collect you from your accommodation or designated meeting spot at the scheduled time and embark on our journey to the archaeological site of Herculaneum, one of the three Roman cities entombed by the devastating eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. Are you ready for an insightful exploration?

Your adventure begins as we navigate the cobblestone pathways of the site, pausing to appreciate the residential homes and thermal baths that withstood the fierce pyroclastic flow from the volcano. Did you know that there was once a gymnasium in ancient Herculaneum?

As we marvel at the remarkably preserved structures and their facades, we will discuss the artistic expressions and building methodologies prevalent during that era.

We will also visit several iconic landmarks, such as the Hall of the Augustals, the baths, the House of Aristides and Neptune, and the Samnite House, as well as the area where tragically over 300 lives were lost.

After the visit, you'll have some leisure time to relax or enjoy a meal.

Ultimately, following 2 hours of exploration, we will wrap up the activity by taking you back to our starting point.
