Pompeii, Herculaneum + Vesuvius Tour

Travel back in time to a significant chapter in Italy's history through the towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum, with a hike to the summit of Mount Vesuvius, an active volcano in Campania.

This tour covers the devastating eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD that destroyed Pompeii and Herculaneum, once prosperous cities of their era. Participants will meet at Via Roma and travel by minibus to Mount Vesuvius, followed by visits to Herculaneum and Pompeii.

At over 1000 meters (3280 feet), Vesuvius impresses visitors. An expert volcanologist will provide insights into the volcano's activity and the events leading to the eruption. Following this, there will be free time to hike to the summit for views of the Gulf of Naples and Sorrento Coast.

Next, the tour proceeds to Herculaneum, where participants can explore the ancient Roman city at their own pace. Highlights include houses, pubs, temples, and mosaics, particularly the forum and the mosaic in the house of Neptune and Amphitrite.

After Herculaneum, the tour continues to the World Heritage Site of Pompeii. Guests will receive an audioguide in English to uncover the city's secrets, passing by cobblestoned streets and significant buildings like the House of the Faun, the House of the Tragic Poet, and the Basilica. Observations include intricate mosaics and plaster casts of the eruption’s victims.

The tour concludes at the starting point of Pompeii after an 8-hour historic experience.
