Nordeste Tour & Faial da Terra Hiking Experience

Our day begins with a 9 am pickup from your accommodation in Ponta Delgada. We’ll travel to Faial da Terra, a charming enclave in São Miguel, where our hiking expedition will commence.

As we traverse through lush vegetation and mountainous terrain, we’ll pass by Sanguinho, an empty village reimagined after its abandonment in the 1970s, bringing back its forgotten allure. We will then proceed to the magnificent Salto do Prego waterfall, where you’ll have ample time to explore the area and perhaps take a refreshing dip. A delightful picnic lunch composed of a sandwich, cake, fruit, juice, and water will be served here, allowing you to replenish your energy amidst nature.

Following lunch, we’ll make our way back to Faial da Terra, where you can enjoy some leisure time at the quaint old fishing harbor before returning to the bus for our trip to Nordeste.

Prepare to be enchanted by the breathtaking scenery of lush green cliffs adorned with seasonal blooms that encircle this town. Notable highlights include Ponta do Sossego and Vista dos Barcos, two stunning viewpoints where we’ll pause to soak in the natural splendor of the region.

Our adventure continues at the Ribeira dos Caldeirões Natural Park, a haven boasting numerous waterfalls, some reaching an impressive height of 131 feet (40 meters)!

We anticipate returning to the starting point around 4:30 pm.
