Salto do Cabrito Falls Hike

Description

This hike around the Salto do Cabrito Falls starts at the Ponta Delgada port. A bus will take us to Caldeiras, a thermal area in Ribeira Grande municipality with hot springs. The 6.5-mile circular route is moderately difficult, featuring steep inclines and diverse biodiversity. Along the way, an environmental guide will share insights about the area, including its water resources. We'll visit the Salto do Cabrito hydroelectric power station and the Fajã do Redondo hydroelectric power station, which powered towns on São Miguel Island. After a break at Caldeiras, we'll return to Ponta Delgada, concluding the tour 3.5 hours after it begins.
