São Miguel: 2 Day Tour

Make the most of your time in the Azores on this ultimate tour of São Miguel. You'll spend two days exploring the island's volcanic landscapes and visiting its important landmarks.

Description

Day 1: Furnas & Tea Plantations (8 hours)

At the indicated time, we'll meet on João Bosco Mota Amaral Avenue in Ponta Delgada and depart by minibus to the town of Vila Franca do Campo. After exploring its streets and viewing the volcanic islet, we'll head to Furnas.

In Furnas, you will find volcanic calderas, fumaroles, and a lagoon. We will discuss the island's volcanic landscapes and break for a typical meal of cozido à portuguesa. You can also choose to visit the botanical gardens at your own pace.

The day concludes with a visit to the Gorreana tea plantations where we will taste one of their famous infusions. The tour will end around 4:30 pm.

Day 2: Sete Cidades & Lagoa do Fogo (8 hours)

We will pick you up again to visit Lagoa do Fogo in the center of São Miguel Island, discovering the formation of this volcanic lake and exploring its surroundings.

The rest of the day will include visits to viewpoints around Lagoa das Sete Cidades, where we will share interesting facts about this natural site.

Before returning to your accommodation, we will have lunch at a traditional restaurant. We will conclude the excursion and drop you back at the starting point by 4:30 pm.
