São Miguel: 2 Day Tour

Make the most of your time in the Azores on this ultimate tour of São Miguel. You'll spend two days exploring the island's volcanic landscapes and visiting its important landmarks.

Day 1: Furnas & Tea Plantations (8 hours)

At the indicated time, we'll meet on João Bosco Mota Amaral Avenue in Ponta Delgada to set off by minibus to the town of Vila Franca do Campo. After a stroll through its streets and admiring the view of the volcanic islet, we'll drive to Furnas.

In Furnas, we'll explore the volcanic calderas, fumaroles, and lagoon. A break will be taken to enjoy a traditional cozido à portuguesa, one of São Miguel's typical dishes. You may also opt to visit the botanical gardens at your own pace.

The final stop of the day will be at the Gorreana tea plantations for a visit and tasting of their famous infusions. The tour ends at about 4:30 pm.

Day 2: Sete Cidades & Lagoa do Fogo (8 hours)

We will pick you up again at the meeting point and visit the centre of São Miguel Island to admire the Lagoa do Fogo. We will explore the volcanic lake and its surrounding flora and fauna.

The remainder of the day will focus on the viewpoints around Lagoa das Sete Cidades, the most famous spring in the Azores. We will cross its bridge while revealing facts about this natural site.

Before returning to your accommodation, lunch will be enjoyed in a traditional restaurant. The excursion concludes with your drop-off at the starting point at 4:30 pm.
