Sete Cidades and Lagoa do Fogo

We'll meet up at Avenida João Bosco Mota Amaral and head out of Ponta Delgada towards one of the island's most notable spots: the Lagoa do Fogo lagoon, known as a crater lake. While learning about this volcanic geography, we'll admire the views of the lagoon and its surroundings. The site is protected from construction to maintain its beauty.

After enjoying several viewpoints at Lagoa do Fogo, we'll proceed to the northwest of the island to visit the Sete Cidades lagoon and crater, which translates to seven cities.

The Lagoa das Sete Cidades lagoon is divided into the Blue Lagoon and the Green Lagoon. We'll cross the bridge connecting both halves to appreciate the contrasting colors of this natural area.

We will take a break for a buffet lunch at a local restaurant to experience the island's cuisine. After lunch, we will follow the road along the southwestern coastline to return to Ponta Delgada.
