Che Guevara route 3 Day Tour

We will follow in the footsteps of the revolutionary leader on his crusade through Bolivia on this 3-day tour along the Che Guevara route. You will see places like La Higuera.

Che Guevara route 3 Day Tour

Day 1: Santa Cruz - Samaipata - Vallegrande

At 6:00 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Santa Cruz de la Sierra to start our 3-day tour along the Che Guevara route. We will follow the path of the revolutionary leader and his Bolivian National Liberation Army (ELN).

Our first destination is Samaipata, where the ELN temporarily captured an area before fleeing. Here, we will visit the Fort of Samaipata, an important archaeological site. We’ll explore its constructions and observe sculptures of snakes and pumas.

The tour continues at a museum with artefacts from the excavations, followed by lunch at a local restaurant, including a starter and a main course. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the washing place of the hospital Nuestro Señor de Malta and the Che monument and museum in Vallegrande. Dinner and overnight at the hotel will follow.

Day 2: Vallegrande - Pucara - La Higuera

At 7:00 am, after breakfast, we will leave for La Higuera, where Che was captured. The road between La Higuera and Vallegrande, also known as the Che route, will include a stop at Pucara, which Che mentioned in his Diary.

Upon arrival at La Higuera, we will see the school where Che was imprisoned and executed on October 9, 1968. After lunch, we will return to Vallegrande.

Day 3: Vallegrande - Santa Cruz

On the final day, after breakfast, we will head back to Santa Cruz de la Sierra, dropping you off at your hotel around 4:00 pm.

Tour ending in Sucre

For those wishing to continue to Sucre, the itinerary for the first two days remains unchanged, with accommodation in Villa Serrano on the second night.

On the third day, after breakfast at 8:00 am, we will proceed to Sucre, stopping in Tomina to view its 18th-century church and for lunch, arriving in Sucre around 2:00 pm.

The tour includes two nights' accommodation in double rooms in 2-star hotels:Vallegrande: Hotel Plaza Pueblo.Villa Serrano: Hotel Mi Tierra (for tours ending in Sucre).
