Jesuit Missions 2-Day Tour

Day 1: Santa Cruz - San Javier - Concepción

At 7:30 am, pick up from your hotel in Santa Cruz de la Sierra begins a 136-mile (220-kilometre) journey to San Javier. En route, we will pass through villages such as Cotoca, Pailas, Pailón, and Troncos. Upon arrival, visit the mission church, the first founded by the Jesuits. Discuss the history of the Jesuit Missions, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in the 90s.

After a typical lunch that includes a starter and main course, the tour continues to Concepción. You will have free time to explore the town and attend mass before dinner.

Day 2: Concepción - Calama - Santa Cruz

At 8:30 am, we begin with breakfast and a 20-minute hike to the Calama Stone with views of the Chiquitano Valley. Afterward, return to Concepción to visit its church and 18th-century missionary museum, showcasing Chiquitano carvings.

After a lunch break, we return to Santa Cruz de la Sierra, stopping at the Paquio stones to view the buffaloes and at San Javier to stretch. Drop-off at your hotel in Santa Cruz is at 7 pm.
