Jesuit Missions 2-Day Tour
Day 1: Santa Cruz - San Javier - Concepción
At 7:30 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Santa Cruz de la Sierra and travel 136 miles (220 kilometers) to San Javier, passing through villages such as Cotoca, Pailas, Pailón, and Troncos. Upon arrival, we will visit the mission church, the first founded by the Jesuits, and discuss the history of the Jesuit Missions, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the 90s. A lunch will be provided, including a starter and a main course. Afterward, we will travel to Concepción, where you will have free time to explore the town and attend a mass before dinner.
Day 2: Concepción - Calama - Santa Cruz
On the second day, we will start with breakfast at 8:30 am, followed by a hike to the Calama Stone, approximately 20 minutes away, offering views of the Chiquitano Valley. We will return to visit the church and the 18th-century missionary museum in Concepción. After lunch, we will head back to Santa Cruz de la Sierra, stopping at the Paquio stones to see buffaloes and taking a quick break at San Javier. We will drop you off at your hotel in Santa Cruz by 7 pm.
