Jesuit Missions 2-Day Tour
Day 1: Santa Cruz - San Javier - Concepción
At 7:30 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Santa Cruz de la Sierra for the 136-mile (220-kilometre) journey to San Javier, passing through villages such as Cotoca, Pailas, Pailón, and Troncos. Upon arrival, we'll visit the mission church, the first founded by the Jesuits. We will explore the history of the Jesuit Missions, which were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in the 1990s.
After a typical lunch, including a starter and main course, we'll proceed to Concepción. You'll have free time to explore the town and attend mass before dinner.
Day 2: Concepción - Calama - Santa Cruz
At 8:30 am, we'll have breakfast and then hike to the Calama Stone, about 20 minutes away, for views of the Chiquitano Valley. We'll return to Concepción to visit its church and the 18th-century missionary museum, which contains carvings made by the Chiquitanos.
After lunch, we will head back to Santa Cruz de la Sierra, stopping at the Paquio stones to view the buffaloes and at San Javier to stretch our legs. We will drop you off at your hotel in Santa Cruz at 7 pm.
