Jesuit Missions 4 Day Tour

Day 1: Santa Cruz - San Javier Mission - Concepción

At 9 am, pickup from your hotel in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Travel to Chiquitania, where Jesuit missionaries established Christian churches in the 17th and 18th centuries, later declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Visit the San Javier mission, founded in 1691, and enjoy free time for lunch there. Next, explore the Paquio forest and its rock formations, then proceed to Concepción for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Concepción - San Ignacio

Start with a buffet breakfast including fruit, eggs, bacon, bread, coffee, and juice. Visit the village of Concepción and its church, then head to the Jesuit Mission of San Ignacio, founded in 1748. Stroll through San Ignacio’s Jesuit churches before overnight accommodations.

Day 3: San Ignacio - San Miguel - San Rafael - Santa Ana - San José

Early wake-up to visit San Miguel, featuring part of its 18th-century church. Continue to San Rafael and Santa Ana, missions founded before the Jesuit expulsion in 1767. Explore craft workshops reflecting Jesuit and indigenous culture. Enjoy free time for lunch before departing to San José de Chiquitos for the night.

Day 4: San José - Santa Cruz

Begin with breakfast and a visit to the Jesuit complex of San José, consisting of a church, chapel, and bell tower. After lunch, return to Santa Cruz de la Sierra, arriving around 5 pm.
